Ingredients
Scale
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup hot chocolate mix (or 4 cups prepared warm chocolate milk)
Instructions
Prepare your warm chocolate milk base using your preferred hot chocolate mix or by heating 4 cups of chocolate milk on the stove or in the microwave until hot. Divide the warm milk into serving mugs.
In a medium bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder.
Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, creating a fluffy chocolate topping. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes.
Spoon a generous amount of the homemade whipped topping over the warm chocolate milk in each mug.
Serve immediately for a cozy, indulgent chocolate drink.
Notes
For an iced version, use cold chocolate milk instead of warm milk.
You can substitute the powdered sugar with granulated sugar if you prefer, but the texture may be slightly less smooth.
Top with mini marshmallows or a dusting of extra cocoa powder for added flair.
